InDesign Server Load Balancer Though InDesign Server comes with its own implementation of Load Balancer but its not necessary that it caters to all requirements which a workflow may have. Our customer had a requirement for a Load Balancer Solutions which could distribute jobs between different instances of InDesign Server and perform extensive logging. In failover conditions special handling was required and also real time reporting on each instance of InDesign Server was required. We developed a Load Balancer in J2EE and deployed the solution on Amazon EC2
Porting C++ Plugin from InDesign Desktop to Server InDesign Desktop and InDesign Server share the same development SDK with the only difference that UI components are not available in InDesign Server. Our customer had a C++ Plugin for InDesign Desktop which he now wanted to use in InDesign Server. We ported the solution to split the plug-in into two UI and Model. The Model Plug-in was further enhanced to add scriptable functions for automation purpose.
Document Merge and PDF Export The customer had a requirement for automated document creation in PDF format. Most of the things in the document were static with few fields dynamic. The customer was presently using Desktop version of InDesign and manually merging the variable data with InDesign Template to create documents. We developed a web portal for the customer to submit jobs with variable text and InDesign Template. Web portal was designed to submit jobs on InDesign Server and automate the document merge process and PDF Creation.
Web to Print The requirement was to develop a web based self service design solution using which users can design cards, graphics, banners and and then order print. Solution we developed had InDesign Server in the backend for creating Print Quality PDF's and Flex as front end for rich user experience.
