HTML5

Whilst finalization of HTML5 Standards is an ongoing effort of a consortium of many industry groups, a couple of its aspects have been released and adopted by various browsers like Firefox 4, Safari, Google Chrome and IE 9. Some of the notable features which HTML5 introduced are ability to draw on a canvas, playing videos, design better forms, geolocation , build web applications that work offline and more. You guessed it At MetaDesign we use those available aspects of HTML5 whenever possible for our customers !

CSS3

CSS3 offers vast improvement on the previous versions, it introduces many exciting new functions and features. CSS3 comes with ability to use rounded corners, animations, multiple backgrounds and more. Just like HTML5, we use latest set of features from CSS3 where we can when working for our customers.

HTML5 for Mobile Apps

HTML5 has emerged as the foundation for all future web development for both Desktop as well as Mobile Platform. Based on the feature set exposed by HTMl5, it is certainly a genuine contender as the development technology for Mobile Applications. The key features include: offline support, via the AppCache and Database APIs for storing stuff locally on the device; Canvas and Video to simplify adding graphics and video to a page while ignoring plugins; advanced forms, which can handle tasks like field validation on the mobile browser; and the GeoLocation API.
